Start up your Classic Car Season with MOTORAMA Custom Car and Motorsport Expo

March means that spring around the corner and with that vintage car enthusiasts begin to plan for the car new season!

Last year we posted about the Classic Car Show and

Cruise-In Season and  the response was amazing!  In Canada, we may not have many months to enjoy our vintage vehicles...but once the snow begins to melt we are ready to uncover, visit, drive and ogle these beauties!

Toronto Vintage Society is working with the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo to kick off the 2015 car season!  Featuring some of Toronto's favourite pinups, such as Kassandra Love and Miss Pin up Canda 2014 - Becky Page!  We will also bring our signature "Selfie Booth"! Attendees can go back in time (no hints other than this!!) and hopefully grab a picture or two with these great Pinup ladies!

Motorama Custom Car & Motorsport Expo
March 13, 14, 15, 2015
International Centre, near Pearson Airport
website/tickets: www.motoramashow.com

Inside Track Communications – publishers of Inside Track Motorsport News, Inside Motorcycles, MX & Off-Road and the producer of the Canadian Motorsports Expo – is now the owner / promoter of the traditional hot rod / classic car / motorsports show held in mid-March at Toronto’s International Centre, adjacent to Toronto’s Pearson Airport.

Known over the years as Motion Custom Car Show, Performance World and most recently MegaSpeed, the new show will be called the MOTORAMA Custom Car & Motorsports Expo. According to International Centre officials, this ‘show weekend’ traditionally attracts tens of thousands of automotive enthusiasts each year.

The inaugural MOTORAMA show will take place March 13, 14 and 15, 2015. It will fill approximately 225,000 square feet of the newly configured Halls 1 and 2 (formerly Halls 1, 2 and 3) at the refurbished International Centre.

MOTORAMA will be a three-day celebration of automotive culture and motorsports, featuring high quality hot rods, custom cars, racing vehicles of all kinds, classics, exotics, trucks, tuners, rat rods and more.

The new show will retain the popular qualities that made the Canadian Motorsports Expo (CME) so successful, and will expand that model out to incorporate all of the other parts of the automotive spectrum that will make up MOTORAMA.

These include: celebrity appearances, interesting and informative seminars and forums, awards ceremonies, car clubs, racetracks and series, showcar prizes, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, collectibles vendors, demonstrations, industry announcements and press conferences, and more.

In addition to the team that produced the CME, MOTORAMA’s management group includes some of the most respected names in the Canadian hot rod and classic car community. As was the case with the CME, MOTORAMA will be promoted via aggressive public relations, advertising and social media campaigns – all starting almost immediately – to let Canadian car and motorsports fans know about the new show.

“We’re honoured that the International Centre has given us the opportunity to assume the reins of their mid-March hot rod and classic car show,” said ITC’s David Weber. “Our goal with MOTORAMA is to restore this show to its past glory, while making sure that Canadian racing has the same high profile that it had. We’re looking forward to working with the many individuals and companies that are passionate about hot rods, custom cars, classics, tuners, etc. to make this show the best it’s ever been.”

If you are obsessed with the perfect vintage accessory as we are, then we hope to see you there!

The Toronto Vintage Society itself, is no stranger to the Toronto Vintage Clothing Show! In 2014 we worked closely with the show to help bring what they created in Ottawa to the Toronto scene.  Having already many smaller shopping events, we knew that Toronto would be able to bring the shoppers to the event, but what we needed was an event of this magnitude! The show was also a huge catalyst for our own Toronto presence. Using it as a opportunity to showcase what we do, last March we had our own booth to harness new fans and show the city that we take vintage VERY seriously.

There was also lots of live tweeting our unique finds...and discovering Toronto's fashionable vintage people!

Here is a small collection of vendors that you can expect to see at the show!

CAROLE TANENBAUM VINTAGE COLLECTION

Iconic vintage costume jewelery retailer, the Carole Tanenbaum Vintage Collection has announced plans to hold their first ever spring-cleaning event, which will be held at the Toronto Vintage Clothing Show. This is a rare and exceptional opportunity for vintage fashion lovers to discover some amazing treasures including bags, brooches, necklaces, earrings, cufflinks and rings. The entire collection is over 20,000 pieces and is sold in retail locations around the world including Dubai, London, Tokyo, Chicago and Toronto.

CHANEL TOUCH

Making a rare appearance is one of North America’s foremost experts on vintage Chanel purses, Cyndee Lavoie, owner of Chanel Touch.  Lavoie states “We can offer a pre-owned classic bag that is in excellent or better condition for generally 50-60% off the original retail price.  This is a substantial savings”. Savvy shoppers can shop with confidence knowing that the authenticity of all of her vintage Chanel purses are unconditionally guaranteed.

THE IAN DRUMMOND COLLECTION

Toronto’s vintage clothing specialist The Ian Drummond Collection will be on the show floor with a huge offering of exceptional garments.  The collection is noted for its vast inventory of authentic vintage clothing and provides wardrobe for Hollywood movies such as ChicagoThe Aviator and Capote.

PRIMETIME ANTIQUES & COLLECTIBLES

Ottawa’s Primetime is one of Canada’s fastest growing vintage fashion vendors. Sourcing much of their inventory south of the border, owner Judy Grummich notes “Out of all my dresses that I have sold, by far, the most popular has been the party dress with the cinched in waist and flared skirt a la Audrey Hepburn.  This style of dress is a favorite of both the very traditional vintage follower as well as the edgy, over the top, fashion-forward collector with body piercings, blue hair etcetera!”

ANDREW ZEGERS - ZEGERS DESIGN AND EXTREME COLLECTORS

Andrew Zegers, host of the television show Extreme Collectors will be participating. Andrew’s company, Zegers Design is one of Canada’s premiere sources for mid-century modern.  Mid century modern refers, in part, to designs in furnishings from the middle of the 20th century. Knoll explains, “Yes it is a bona fide design movement – but the way I describe it is a little less scholarly!  Think of a picture of the Las Vegas ’Rat Pack’ - Sammy, Dean, Frank and Joey- hanging out at 50’s era home – that décor is likely to be mid century modern”!

Its going to be a very exciting weekend for Toronto's vintage and antique lovers!

We hope to see you there!
